My first Monstera comes from the cantina a of school near mine. I didn't steal it, only gave one of it's branch a new home. The mama was too fat to fit in the pot they gave it and was trying to escape. Propagation on those plant is very easy. I also bought one from IKEA, and was a bit surprised to see that this plant was not one but at least three ! My gf and I took care of them by giving each one it's own pot :>
